Kimmy Dee

Hey! My name is Kimmy Dee and I am a full-time Children’s illustrator and surface pattern designer living in New Jersey, USA.

In 2013, I graduated with my BFA in Studio Art and minor in Digital Media from the University of Central Florida. I moved to New York where I would work many creative jobs until landing as an Artist Assistant for Jeff Koons. I then decided to get certified as a Graphic Designer from Hunter College. I freelanced successfully for many years until finding myself in a Textile Artist position which lead me to creating many surface designs for soft home products that are sold in many retail stores and online, traveling to China for the Canton Fair and working as a Senior Designer in NYC under the Disney and Viacom Licenses.

In 2023, I decided it was time to branch out and start my own children’s pattern collection since that is the style I resonate with the most. As a mom of a fun little boy, I know how exciting it is to find cool, unique designs that fit his vibe and honestly mine. I was tired of the cookie cutter designs you typically see in stores and decided to explore the possibility of designing my own style that is fun, whimsical and also inspiring.

I have high hopes of seeing my work one day licensed in the wild on pajamas, fabric, wrapping paper, stationary, bathing suits, etc., but for now I am just in the beginning of my journey with Kimmy Dee Studio and loving every small step I make everyday.
